ALEXIS MILLER BUESE is a partner in Sidley Austin LLP’s Los Angeles office. She is a litigator practicing in commercial litigation and disputes, with experience in contract, real estate, class action and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) litigation. She has represented individual and business clients in federal and state courts, as well as complex international arbitrations.

Alexis has significant experience enforcing arbitral rights and awards and routinely consults with clients and transactional counsel to provide advice respecting the drafting and enforcement of alternative dispute provisions. As part of her counseling practice Alexis advises clients on creating enforceable e-commerce agreements, including the drafting and implementation of effective terms and conditions.

Recognized by her peers as one of the top young lawyers in Southern California, Alexis was named a “Super Lawyers Rising Star” in 2013–2017 (Los Angeles Magazine) and was also recognized as one of the “Top Women Attorneys in Southern California” (Los Angeles Magazine) in 2013–2015.

Prior to joining Sidley, Alexis externed at the California Office of the Attorney General. She also externed for the Honorable Judge Deidre Hill, Los Angeles Superior Court, 2006.

Alexis was born in Santa Monica, California. She earned her B.A. cum laude, from Tulane University and her J.D. from Loyola Law School, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, Executive Editor, Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review.

Her community involvement includes service on the Board of Town Hall Los Angeles, Innovations and as a Corporate Advisory Committee Member for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
