- The Future of Global Democracy
November 28, 2018
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
In 1992, after the fall of the Soviet Union, Francis Fukuyama famously declared the “end of history” and the ultimate triumph of Western liberal democracy. But now, just a quarter of a century later, some are wondering whether Western liberal democracy’s triumph was fleeting, maybe even illusory.
Are democracies stable around the world today? Will democracies survive the tension between external supranational institutions such as the EU and internal nationalist movements? Can democratic institutions evolve fast enough to meet challenges posed by new technologies?
Join us on November 28th for a thought-provoking discussion on the future of global democracy. Come with big thoughts, because we’re asking the big questions.
