Sheldon M. Stone
Mr. Stone is a founding member of Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., a Los Angeles-based institutional money manager specializing in alternative investment strategies. He manages the firm’s domestic and global high yield bond portfolios and has supervisory responsibilities for its European high yield bond activities.
Before forming Oaktree, Mr. Stone helped establish The TCW Group’s high yield bond department in 1985 and ran it for ten years. Prior to that, Mr. Stone was at Citibank where he served as a high yield bond credit analyst. From 1978 to 1983, Mr. Stone worked as a Director in the corporate finance department of The Prudential Insurance Company of America.
Mr. Stone, a native of New Jersey, holds an A.B. degree from Bowdoin College (where he serves as a Trustee) and an M.B.A. in accounting and finance from Columbia University. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Mr. Stone previously chaired the California Community Foundation and the national advisory board of the Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth.
